A closer look

VW's 2018 Jetta has a 1.4L base 4-cyllinder turbo. My experience has been very possitive over the past 7 years. No issues, MPG averages more than 40 since new The 5M transmission plus light clutch takeup make the "Fun to Drive" come to life! Even the factory tires are impressive: at 62,000 miles they are still legal (>4/32) Last - but not least - the new car purchase price was very reasonable - 5.0
Perfection on a budget

I have owned for 6 years and 150k. On 2nd set of tires and only replaced rear brake pads and oil changes. Runs smooth and accelerates amazingly with 38mpg. Best car I've purchased in a while. Very reliable and fun to drive. - 5.0
10 years and 70,000 flawless miles with a VW

VW - in response to a world wide emissions issue - offered to buy my Jetta diesel. The amount they offered - - - well it was similar to the "Godfather" film. (I took the offer) I drove home in a brand new 2017 VW Jetta 1.4L turbo. That was in late 2017. Since then I've not had one single issue. The price I paid was heavily discounted - (both the dealer and the the manufacturer offered deep discounts.............. About fuel efficiency: since new my CALCULATED (miles driven divided by gallons pumped) stands at 40.1 in 65City/35 Highway. My last comment deals with "Fun to drive"......a: very light clutch take-up and positive acting 5-speed transmission synchros make for pleasant operation (LA traffic aexcepted!!) The car is "Pure White" (VW-speak) - and does well during hot summers in CA
