Getting a flat tire isn't anyone's idea of a good time, but changing a flat tire isn't actually all that difficult. You can also reduce your chances of getting a flat tire by visiting the RAM service center at Brunswick Auto Mart. Here's our advice on how to care for your tires and what you need to do if you still end up with a flat.

Tire Care

Properly caring for your tires can potentially help you avoid a flat. Make sure that all of your tires are properly inflated. The correct pressure should be written on the inside of your driver's side door. Also make sure that your spare tire has air in it, just in case you do need it.

Also be quick to fix any issues that you notice with your tires. If you see damage, notice a leak, or find that your tires are wearing down unevenly, these are all things that our mechanics can easily address for you.

When You Get a Flat

Even with proper tire care, you can still end up with a flat. Here's how to safely change out the flat tire for your spare:

  1. Pull over to somewhere safe
  2. Take out the spare tire, your tire iron, and your jack
  3. Loosen the wheel lugs before lifting up the car
  4. Now jack up the car and finish removing the lugs
  5. Take off your flat tire
  6. Install your spare tire
  7. Lower the car
  8. Tighten all wheel lugs completely

Now you're ready to get back on the road! Just remember that you're not meant to drive around on a spare for that long, so get to our service center near Cleveland and get new tires as soon as you can. We have all of the new RAM parts that you need!
