lockedoutofcar.jpgGetting locked out of your car probably isn't your idea of a good time. At Brunswick Auto Mart, we've talked to plenty of drivers who have gotten stuck in a situation where they couldn't get back into their Jeep or RAM vehicle. Fortunately, some of these tips from our Jeep service center staff might be able to help you quickly deal with a lockout.

Have a Spare

One of the easiest ways to deal with a lockout is using a spare key. That means you'll have to be a bit proactive, making sure that you actually have a spare key that you can use in the event of a lockout. You should be able to get a spare key from the dealer who sold you your vehicle. Then it's just a matter of keeping it in a safe place or with someone that you trust. When you need to unlock your car, you know where it is.

Take Advantage of Roadside Assistance Programs

If you're enrolled in a roadside assistance program, you might have an easy way of dealing with a lockout. These programs don't just help you out when you have a flat tire or a mechanical problem. Most can also assist you if you end up getting locked out of your vehicle.

Call for a Tow

This will cost money, but if you're out of other options a tow truck should be able to help. Most can assist you with a lockout or refer you to someone who can help you.

Just keep a clear head and exhaust all of your options, and you'll be back in your car in no time!
