We’ve suspected a Jeep® truck has been in the works for a while now, but some new leaked information suggests we have even more to be excited about. Due to be officially unveiled sometime around the end of next year, the 2019 model is rumored to be named after its 1980s predecessor, the Jeep Scrambler. Read on to learn all of the possible details we were able to gather. And, as always, come by our Jeep dealership serving Cleveland, OH for information on all things Jeep brand.

As more details trickle in from various sources, it has become apparent that this new and ultra impressive Jeep truck will be an elongated version of the current Jeep Wrangler or similar. Coincidentally, back in 2015, the company renewed its Scrambler trademark, but that isn’t to say this truck might not have an entirely different name. While FCA US LLC has yet to comment on the newly leaked information, we can expect details coming from them soon.

The original Jeep Scrambler was based on the Jeep CJ and produced from 1981 to 1986 with less than 28,000 models produced. However, the iconic Jeep brand look on a truck model was beloved by President Reagan and many others at the time. The new model is said to have a power top and all-wheel drive with a 3.0-liter V6 engine, being based partially on the four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, but with a longer frame. It seems too early to assume or rule out multiple engine options, so we can only hope for a turbo-diesel model in the lineup.
