One of the many things we love about Jeep® SUVs here at Brunswick Auto Mart is their ability to flex their muscle out in the wild, whether that means taking on a nearly impossible trail or braving some of the worst weather that comes our way. Jeep vehicles also flexed their muscle last month, posting impressive sales gains during May 2016.

Jeep model sales were strong last month with the automaker recording gains of 14 percent across the lineup. The 2016 Jeep Renegade and 2016 Jeep Compass posted impressive increases of 146 percent and 116 percent, respectively. The 2016 Jeep Renegade also recorded its best ever monthly sales performance last month, as did the 2016 Jeep Patriot.

Meanwhile, the 2016 Jeep Wrangler led the way in sales volume for the automaker, posting sales of 19,551 vehicles during May 2016. The 2016 Jeep Cherokee and 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee followed its lead with sales of 19,208 vehicles and 18,856 vehicles, respectively.

On an overall basis, Jeep reported sales of 90,545 vehicles during May 2016, up from sales of 79,652 last year. On a year to date basis, Jeep vehicle sales increased 16 percent to sales of 384,440 vehicles.

According to Reid Bigland, Senior Vice President of Sales at parent company FCA - North America, "Notwithstanding a challenging calendar, we managed to muscle our way to our strongest May sales in over 10 years."
