The "Family Vehicle of the Year" award was developed by MAMA, a nonprofit organization of more than 200 automotive industry professionals and journalists, to help consumers and drivers who are shopping for a verfsatile family vehicle make a wise decision when purchasing a car. The award is voted upon by 99 journalist members of MAMA, and it goes to a four-door vehicle that starts at an MSRP of less than $50,000, must appear at one of the organization's rallies that take place twice a year, and must be significantly upgraded and updated as of the organization's 2014 Spring Rally.
