Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching and we have so many things to be thankful for here in the United States of America, like a country that celebrates freedom, friends and family, turkey and stuffing and pie, and a day off work to celebrate.
Have you ever stopped to be thankful for your car? Your car brings you the freedom of mobility. It allows you to come and go wherever you want, whenever you want, to see the sights of America, friends and family, and to find yourself some turkey and stuffing and pie on Thanksgiving Day.
The fine men and women who contributed to building your car are thankful. Once again Chrysler Group LLC employees in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and here in Ohio participated in an annual food drive, volunteering to help their neighbors in their communities enjoy a wonderful dinner to celebrate Thanksgiving Day by donating food and canned goods to local area food pantries -- approximately 17,000 pounds of cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, canned fruits, stuffing mix, pumpkin pie filling, and all the fixin's. The Chrysler Foundation also donated 2,400 frozen turkeys to help people enjoy a traditional and wonderful Thanksgiving Day dinner.
"We strive to make serving the community part of our everyday mission at Chrysler," said Jody Trapasso, President of The Chrysler Foundation and Chrysler Group LLC Senior Vice President, External Affairs.
The circle of friends and family around Thanksgiving Day tables extends to the fine folks who build Chrysler Group LLC vehicles -- SUVs, trucks, and cars like the 2014 Jeep® Grand Cherokee, 2014 RAM® 1500, or 2014 Dodge Dart Akron and Brunswick drivers enjoy so much here at Brunswick Auto Mart. Thanks to their generosity more families will be able to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving Day dinner.
"Thousands of men, women and children across the Midwest will have a happier holiday, knowing for certain that they will have food on the table," said Walt Young, interim president of Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. "We could not be more grateful."
"We're moved by the generosity of the Chrysler employees and UAW members who once again responded to assist their neighbors during this holiday season," said Trapasso.
