The award was announced at the facility that builds the 2014 RAM 1500, the Warren Truck Assembly Plant. The contenders for the award had several testing criteria to complete from acceleration, braking, and handling tests, to payload and towing tests up to 75 percent of maximum rated capacities, to real-world driving simulations.
"At the end of the day, though, the Ram 1500 quickly rose to the top," said Loh.
"In a brutally competitive truck industry, the Ram 1500 is the only vehicle to ever win the Motor Trend Truck of the Year award two years in a row, reaffirming the fact that we have the best truck on the road," said Reid Bigland, RAM Truck President and CEO.
