There's a very famous quote that most will instantly recognize: "If you build it, they will come." Of course, Chrysler doesn't turn cornfields into baseball diamonds, but when it comes to their Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles, when they build them, drivers come.
July has been a good month for Chrysler Group with their best July sales numbers since 2006 thanks to a great lineup of RAM trucks, Jeep SUVs, and Dodge and Chrysler cars. Overall, Chrysler Group built vehicles that 140,102 customers came to pick up and drive home last month, an 11% increase compared to July 2012.
According to Reid Bigland, Chrysler Group head of US Sales, "We continue to see strong retail sales, particularly with our pickup trucks and SUVs, and that has helped to propel Chrysler Group to our 40th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth."
RAM Truck sales were particularly robust thanks in no small measure to its strong lineup of work-ready trucks like the 2013 RAM 1500. With July 2013 sales up 31% compared to last year, RAM trucks led the way, and for good reason. If you remember the old days of driving a Dodge truck, Cleveland drivers, today's RAM trucks have some surprises for you like powerful engines with impressive fuel efficiency, advanced six-speed automatic transmissions, and comfortable, elegantly leather-trimmed interiors and high-tech touch screen Uconnect® connectivity options available to let you play as hard as you work.
Jeep also proved its mettle with strong sales of the elegant, capable Jeep Grand Cherokee, which posted an increase of 30% compared to July 2012, and its best monthly sales since July 2005. With its ability to provide luxury and performance enhanced for the 2014 model, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is sure to continue attracting drivers. It doesn't just apply to farmers building baseball diamonds - if you build great cars, drivers will come.
