RAM Trucks are built for work and with the upcoming new 2014 RAM 1500 models you'll be able to get lots of work done, especially if that work includes towing lots of things.
Thanks to improvements in parking system and transmission components and the addition of a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine options the 2014 RAM 1500 promises to offer incredible capability.
"There was more towing capacity in the V-6 Ram 1500 but we needed to upgrade the transmission to hold the truck and trailer when parked on steep grades… Now that we're building the transmissions ourselves, the improvements are included in the new assembly," commented Chief Engineer Mike Cairns.
The new improvements allow the Pentastar® equipped 2014 RAM 1500 to two as much as 7,450 lbs. With 305 horsepower, a robust TorqueFlite 8 transmission, and an elegant and comfortable interior loaded with high-tech features like the available Uconnect® multimedia and connectivity system, the V6-powered RAM 1500 is a leader in the full-size truck segment.
With the soon-to-be-available 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6, the 2014 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel can tow up to 9,200 lbs when equipped to do so - putting larger-displacement, higher-powered V8 engines squarely in its burly crosshairs. The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel puts all that towing ability to work without sacrificing fuel efficiency.
And while truck-shoppers searching for Akron car dealers from which to buy their next work truck are certainly looking for a truck that will help them accomplish any and all towing challenges they may encounter, don't forget you can play too.
