Some of the best cars in the world come from Detroit and deep in the heart of Motown is a Chrysler Group facility that has been building great vehicles since 1992.  The Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit recently celebrated a milestone as its five millionth vehicle was completed and driven off the assembly line by Scott Garberding, Chrysler Group Senior Vice President of Manufacturing.

The five millionth vehicle built at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant (JNAP), a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland in distinctive Billet Silver, made its debut during a celebration at the facility attended by 50 longtime employees and the facility's Veterans Committee.

"Twenty-one years ago, the first Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled off this assembly line," said Garberding.  "Certainly many things have changed over the years, but one thing has remained constant - the dedication and commitment of this workforce...  They are the heart and soul of this plant and this company, and have been entrusted to build a vehicle that is critical to the continued success of Chrysler Group."

The celebratory Jeep Grand Cherokee will be donated to the United Service Organizations (USO).  Said Jeep President and CEO Mike Manley, "In 1991 when this plant was built and preparing to produce the first Jeep Grand Cherokee, the USO was celebrating its 50th anniversary of supporting our troops, so it seemed obvious to us at Jeep that the perfect way to mark this milestone was by donating a new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee to our partners at the USO...  The USO and Jeep - both founded in 1941 - share a common history and commitment to supporting our military men and women. We're honored to support the USO as they continue their dedication to lifting the spirits of American troops and their families."

The five millionth vehicle features a special plaque commemorating its significance along with Chrysler Group CEO Sergio Marchionne's signature.  Completed at 2:30 am on Tuesday, August 13, the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Billet Silver is equipped with a 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine and 8-speed automatic transmission.  It is also outfitted with high-tech Uconnect® connectivity and an 8.4-inch touch screen display, Panoramic Sunroof, leather seating, and Quadra-Lift Air Ride Suspension.  If you're searching for Cleveland car dealers to outfit your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee similarly, be sure to visit us here at our Brunswick Jeep dealership, Brunswick Auto Mart, for more information.
